A Proven Winner Rose Mallow, Berry Awesome is a very robust perennial that fills a lot of space in the garden. Find a place in your landscape where it will not be crowded by other plants, because it will quickly out compete your other perennials for space within a year or two. 

Do not prune it to keep it smaller, as this will remove the flower buds. Tender Zone 4 perennial so it will need heavy mulch before frost!

This award-winning plant features shiny, pink-spotted black leaves and a vigorous rounded habit. It's a sport of 'Obsidian', with pink spots that enlarge and brighten before lightening to cream as the season progresses. Bold, black, and beautiful for sunny locations.

Amethyst Astilbe boasts stunning pink plumes in early to mid-summer, perfect for cutting. Its fern-like leaves stay dark green all season. Thrives in shaded spots with regular watering for abundant blooms and lush foliage.

This cousin to the Hollyhock has similar satiny flowers in a soft lavender-purple shade, exotically striped with deep maroon veins. It forms an upright, bushy mound that may need to be staked if grown in rich soil.

Excellent in containers, or the sunny border. Attracts butterflies and is rabbit resistant.

The leaves emerge frosty blue with a bright yellow margin that lightens to creamy white during the summer.  It forms a medium sized mound topped with light lavender flowers in mid to late summer.

Trollius x Cultorum ‘Lemon Queen' is a well known and liked perennial, it blooms in late spring and early summer. This unique selection has semi-double flowers in a wonderful soft butter-yellow shade. Sometimes called Buttercups, these grow well in a sunny or part-shaded border.

 Shear plants back after blooming to encourage a flush of new leaves to last through the summer. Clumps may be easily divided in fall or early spring.

Lamium is one of the best choices for a tough and showy perennial ground cover.  This selection forms a spreading patch of small silver leaves with a narrow green edge. Clusters of white flowers appear in spring, then continue off and on until fall.

Fairly tolerant of dry shade, once established. Trim back in late winter.

Stems will root into the ground where they touch, and any new plants that form can be easily moved in spring or fall.

Hardy perennial in Manitoba.  Sedum ( also known as Stonecrop) is a gorgeous,  flowering plant with fleshy, deep green leaves. A true sun lover, they bloom in late summer and attracts plentiful pollinators to the garden throughout the fall season. Very showy and tolerant of low rainfall. This plant will attract butterflies, birds and is bee friendly.
