Prairie Horizon Manchurian Alder is a deciduous tree with a strong central leader and an upright spreading habit of growth. Its average texture blends into the landscape, but can be balanced by one or two finer or coarser trees or shrubs for an effective composition.
This is a relatively low maintenance tree, and is best pruned in late winter once the threat of extreme cold has passed. It has no significant negative characteristics.

Ruby Slippers Amur Maple is primarily grown for its highly ornamental fruit. It features abundant showy scarlet samaras in early summer. It has dark green deciduous foliage. The lobed leaves turn outstanding shades of orange and red in the fall.
Leaves turn shades of orange, scarlet, and burgundy to create captivating autumn hues, and colorful seeds adorn the tree late in the summer.

A large evergreen tree with dense, ascending, lateral branches from the ground up that form a broad pyramidal to conical crown. It varies from the typical white spruce in its denser, more compact habit and slower growth rate. It has a shallow, fiberous, wide spreading root system. The thin bark is ashy gray / brown.
Brown cylindrical cones appear in late July and may persist on the tree into January. It is better adapted than the white spruce.Â
Grows best in acidic, moist loams with full sun, but adapts to a variety of conditions including shade, drought, hot and cold. It is flood intolerant and sensitive to soil compaction.
This tree has a slow growth rate at less than 12" per year.

Sorbus aucupaira
A stunning pyramidal accent tree, featuring clusters of white flowers in spring followed by orange-red berries into winter; shiny gray bark, attractive compound leaves turn orange and red in fall; needs well-drained soil, resistant to fireblight.
The Black Hawk foliage is darker than the Russian.

Large heart-shaped leaves provide an excellent source of shade. The pale yellow flowers are fragrant and are highly regarded by bees. Produces a nut-like fruit with a thin green husk. Excellent upright, pyramidal specimen tree.

Manitoba Maple AKA the Box Elder is a low maintenance reasonably drought tolerant shade tree. It is fast growing and turns gold in fall. This tree is a great climbing tree as it has low wide spreading branches.
35-45' ht.
20-25' w.
This deciduous tree is columnar when young and grows up to 60ft tall. Carpinus betulus are densely branched widely used for hedges with distinctive gray bark and dark green foliage that turns yellow-orange in the autumn. It works great as a windbreak or a hedge for privacy. It is best pruned late summer.Â
